Instagram has completely become the go-to communication platform for foodies all over the world. Various delicious-looking food photos have adorned our timelines this year as well. In this post, TokyoTableTrip shall rank the most impressive food on Instagram. Let’s have a look back at 2016 with these mouthwatering-looking food photos that will make you want to have a bite at once.

5th Sushi Takamitsu ‘Sea urchin Nigiri’

Sushi Takamitsu is becoming popular among food fanatics this year.It is a very nice restaurant that has a good balance of service, food, and price.
The owner’s recommended dish, Sea urchin Nigiri, helped spread the restaurant’s name nationwide. We are impressed by the marketing skill of young Sushi chefs these days. We expect that Sushi Takamitsu will be much more popular in 2017 making it a place to visit ASAP.

4th Homemade Ramen Muginae ‘Tokusei Shoyu Ramen’

greedУ®717さん(@greedy_717)がシェアした投稿 -

Muginae became popular immediately after opening in April. The line of Ramen fanatics wanting to eat the popular ramen becomes longer and longer each day. This Ramen has no chemical seasonings, and you can taste its mild flavor.
They weren’t nominated for the 2016 New Ramen Ranking, however, the high potential of the owner was already clear. How will Muginae’s already perfected ramen evolve in the future? We need to keep our eyes on it.

3rd Takiya ‘Beef fillet Tempura’

bonnie c.さん(@cbyyy)が投稿した写真 -

Takiya was opened by Mr. Sasamoto, previously the executive chef at the Kaiseki restaurant Hinokizaka in Ritz Carlton Tokyo.
They recieved attention from food fanatics in Tokyo because of their innovative style different from other traditional Tempura restaurants.
One of their symbolic dishes is the beef fillet Tempura.
This beef is wrapped with Shiso leaves and then deep fried finely. It’s a flavor that you can’t express with Yakiniku or steak. All we can say is that the chef cooked it well and the scent is amazing!
We highly recommend this dish to all the food fanatics in 2017.

2nd Ginza KOSO ‘Beef Toro rice’

This is a commonly seen dish on instagram.
Ginza KOSO’s luxury interior might give you an impression of the restaurant serving bad food. However, you’ll be surprised. This dish is served with frozen sirloin on warm rice and egg yolk.Mixing them together makes this dish heavenly!
The feeling of the frozen beef melting with warm rice in your mouth is just fantastic.
And it’s only 2800 yen for this quality! You have to try it!

1st Tominokoji Yamagishi ‘Sea urchin Temaki roll’

喘息男さん(@zensock)がシェアした投稿 -

And our Number 1 meal is the stunning sea urchin Temaki roll from Yamagishi in Kyoto!
On Instagram it’s known as the ‘sea urchin dog’. You can’t resist taking photos of it when served.
It’s a wonderful looking dish for perfect for SNS.
In order to keep their quality, the sea urchins are brought in from different locations each season.
Mr. Yamagishi’s food creation will leave with a great experience for the rest night.Bravo!

For a party of two, there are seats available for dinner on 11/13, 16, 20, 23, and 26. Make an inquiry through the hotel concierge.

If you would like to enjoy some good food at a hotel, I would recommend Hoshinoya, which just opened last year.

The hotel fee is slightly expensive, but the French cuisine here prepared by the head chef with touches of Japanese influence has extremely good ratings.
Although honestly, I would not recommend you to just spend your precious time in Tokyo just having dinner at the hotel. I think it would be best to stay somewhere near Shinjuku, which offers easy access by trains anywhere, and try the food at various restaurants by planning your route using the train or taxis.
