Hi all! I'll be in Tokyo around late March. I would love to revisit Hashiguchi (I've eaten there in 2017 and 2019) but unfortunately I'll be solo and won't have the benefit of a hotel concierge. If any of the regulars here at TTT would happen to be interested in eating there with me, maybe we can try to reserve together? Drinks are on me. :) I know this is unlikely to work but I thought I'd give it a try!
More generally if others are planning to be in Tokyo around that time, I will post here closer to the time to see if anyone would like to meet for some food or drinks!

Afraid we'll barely miss you but wish you best of luck!
@Mirugai I saw a solo diner in Hashiguchi just this November. I'm not sure if the policy has changed, but perhaps you can try your luck with Jpneazy or another service?
Thanks for the replies! @Just_Ingest, good to know---unfortunately Jpneazy no longer makes calls to restaurants that aren't on their own list, but perhaps I'll try my luck calling up myself.
@mirugai actually that is not true. Jpneazy still makes calls to restaurants not on their list. Just that it is sort of hidden on 1 of their side pages and not on the homepage.
@guest can you point me to a link on their site? I messaged them the other day via their chat function and they told me they can only do restaurants on their list. Would be very happy if this was not true!
regarding Jpneazy it looks like the changes were done recently. Chat with them and they no longer will try anything outside their listed restaurants.
Without a hotel concierge, getting a reservation in Japan is getting trickier than ever.
Glad to know if anyone know an alternative paid concierge.
Actually I have gotten JPNEAZY to make a few reservations outside their list over these few weeks.
Call me selfish, but again it takes time and effort to figure out the page.
So I would rather those who are willing to try figuring it out themselves.
There is also a certain paid concierge service starting with P on LINE messaging service.
Likewise there are also several younger restaurants/owners who reply to their Instagram/line/FB accounts and accept reservations there. One just have to use Google translate and be more thick-skinned.
Good that you are in luck. Tried last week and been told they are not going outside their list now.
@mirugai let me know if you are luckier..

Heard plenty of bad experiences from trusted foodie friends on Pecotter so wouldn’t even recommend that.
I have used JPNEAZY many times before, maybe they decide to give me a better credit rating and given me certain privileges. =)
Again JPNEAZY was never a service to be use to book popular places. More for those tabelog less than 4 or outskirt places. Of course YMMV.
Pecotter is a chatbot. Again good for certain restaurants and not for others. Despite the claims.
This rings true of the age old saying: good, fast, cheap, you can only pick two. If you really want something good and fast, it won't be cheap(either hotel concierge or tableall).

i found jpneazy yield a pretty good success rate at places outside Tokyo.. especially the more casual places
@mirugai I would be happy to go together if we can get the dates to work! Not sure how to reach out but my Instagram handle is the same as my profile name here
